Portfolios look good! But go beyond them, check a couple of complete wedding galleries before you entrust a photographer to document your big day.
Make sure you get in touch with at least a couple of brides/grooms the photographer has documented for. Ask them about their experience with the team and you will know that you are in safe hands :)
India is a land of great variety and our weddings are as diverse as they come. Rituals, bridal wear, time of day and venues vary widely from region to region, community to community. When going through a photographer’s portfolio, see how much experience he or she has had in shooting the sort of wedding ceremony you are going to have. A photographer may be absolutely fabulous with Punjabi marriages, but may have to feel his way around a Malayali wedding. Familiarity with the rituals and rites of your region and community ensures that the photographer can let his instincts take over without having to worry about whether he/she is missing any of the important stuff. That may make the difference between a good wedding album and a great one.
Check the samples of Wedding Album included in your package and know how many post processed images will you be provided. Make sure you are not comparing apples with oranges :)
